Laura Biagiotti, nicknamed "the queen of cashmere", launched her fashion house in 1972. In 1988, she became the first Italian fashion designer to present a collection in China. Most of her works are to create revolutionary new garments made form cashmere. Her cardigans and sweaters are very popular amongst women living in colder climates. Biagiotti produces flattering and comfortable clothes for women, her dresses distinguished by tiny pleats, top-stitching, and ajouree` work. Her bags are rich in geometric patterns and superposition of colours. In 1992, Biagiotti was honoured by the city of New York City as "woman of the year" for her outstanding artistic achievements in fashion. |
